Achievements

  • Dec 2008 : Donation made to a social organization called SAMVAD, to help deaf and dumb people. This was located in Ganganagar which is on the outskirts of Bangalore.
  • July 2009 : Donated to CM relief fund through Udupi Tahsildar, in the year 2009 when north Karnataka were affected by flood.
  • Nov 2009 :Contribution made to release Mr. Lohitashwa from prison at Dammam. He was a truck driver and had accident with Saudi national, despite not his fault he was charged by the authorities.
  • Sept 2009 : Cloths and other materials were collected from KSA and distributed to the people in flood affected areas.
  • Organized blood donation and free medical camps in different parts of Karnataka in regular intervals.
  • Feb 2010 : Donation made to the children of Mr. Rahman resident of Kapu-Udupi District died by heart attack in Dammam. The amount has been deposited under fixed deposit in the name of his children.
  • Oct 2010 : Donated to a Widow whose husband died in Yanbu industrial city.
  • Nov 2010 : Donated to Mr. Edward, who met an accident in Jeddah and could not afford medical expenses.
  • Mar 2011 : Financial support provided to Mrs. Kusuma Shikara Moolya hailing from Shirva, Udupi district for medical treatment as she was suffering from Thyroid cancer.
  • Oct 2011 : Donation granted for the facility of providing drinking water at non aided private school at Hubli.
  • Jan 2012 : Helped a needy lady Mrs. Mamata from Dakshina Kannada district who was badly torched by her sponsor in hail of Saudi Arabia, with help of Indian consulate, her issue was solved and we managed to send her back with one way ticket.
  • April 2012 : Assisted to send the body of late Ratnakar shetty from Udupi district who died to cardiac arrest. Helped to get his indemnity to his successors in India through Indian consulate and sponsor of the deceased.
  • June 2012 : Financial support made for transport of mortal remains of late Mr. Altaf Shaikh from Gulbarga district who died in a tragic petrol pump accident in Kilo 8 Jeddah. The remains was transported with help of consul SD Murthy, Consulate General of India.
  • Sept 2012 : Donation to the Aasara Santhvana an counseling home for destitute at Bangalore which completely look after its inmates by food, clothing’s, education etc.
  • Oct 2012 : Donated to a widow of late Munawar ali from Karkala Taluk who died in Riyadh due to cardiac arrest. This amount has been kept in fixed deposit in Canara Bank A/c in the name of children to support all his 3 children for education.
  • Nov 2012 : Shirva Community Health Center, Udupi district submitted a request for Power Generator which was approved and arranged by the forum.
  • March 2013 : KNRI was contacted by Indian Consulate, Mr. P.K. Jain, asking to take care of person called Mr.Mohammed Wazeeruddin from Bidar, who’s sponsor giving hard time for him and not allowing him to go vacation since long time and also destroyed his original passport. Consulate issued out passport for him and KNRI provided shelter and arrangement for his travel.  Assistance was also provided through some other source as well. We KNRI arranged to send him back home.
  • June 2013  : Appeal received from Zeenath who has diagnosed as breast cancer. She is from Talapadi, Dhakshina Kannada District, but currently staying in Dammam. Her request was approved and arranged to settle her medical bills directly to the hospital since she was undergoing treatment there.
  • Aug 2014 : Supported to cover his medical bills by us. Mr. Jaleel who was undergoing treatment in Jeddah due to major accident. He is from Gulbarga District of Karnataka. He had multiple fractures and improving stage.
  • Sept 2014 : Mrs. Farhath from rural Bangalore came here as maid who had harassment from her sponsor, also she was made to work for another sponsor. With the help of consulate, issue was resolved. Forum along with committee members came forward to assist personally to cover her medical bills and to send her back to India. 
  • Nov 2014 : Extended financial help to a Jeddah resident from Karnataka who was undergoing treatment at Mumbai Hospital, forum approved to support for his medical treatments.
  • Jan 2015 : A lady from Gulbarga District asking for the financial help for her treatment of Liver tumor. The request has been forwarded to KNRI Forum from Gulbarga Trust. Nasir said, already Gulbarga Trust extended their financial help and also lady is getting subsidized treatment from the hospital, still the cost of the treatment is unaffordable due to the nature of treatment. Committee unanimously agreed to assist her financially.
  • Sept 2015 : Donated to Ms. Pavitra from Hassan District for her Nursing education fees.
  • Oct 2015 : Mr. Shuhas from Bangalore who has been selected for International taekwondo championship 2015 to be held in Bangkok from 24 to 26th Oct 2015. He was from a very poor family , father had died long ago. Mother was bringing up 3 kids on her own ( she was handicapped too).Considering his family situation and poverty, forum has approved to support this student to participate in this sport.
  • Nov 2015 : 26 year Ms. Pavithra near Puttur was suffering from Cancer, her treatment was going on for more than a year, their financial condition was very poor. KNRI forum approve to support her.
  • Dec 2015 : School in Belvai village in Dhakshina Kannada District requested for financial help.  They had many issues in the school, like there were no computers, no transportation facilities  to the children’s, no any English teachers etc.   Forum decided to approve and support financially , also asked committee member to monitor their activities as they may need more support .
  • Dec 2015 : Donated to Tamil Sangam based in Jeddah who had forwarded the same to Chennai Flood affected area through volunteer who was assisting there. Not only forum contributed to this but also individual committee members supported financially.
  • Feb 2016 : Mr. Noor Al Ameen from Udupi district who was in Jail for a year and half due to false theft case was released and sent back home.
  • June 2016 : Mr. Mahendra gowda from Puttur , Dakshina Kannada district had reached here to the wrong sponsor as shepherd due to an error by the agent. He was struggling here for more than a year without shelter, but we directly involved and rescued him after lot of efforts, finally sent him back to India.
  • July /Aug 2016 : KNRI took part in supplying the food to the labor camps of Bin Laden and Saudi Ozer labor camps, there were more than 3000/= Indian were struggling with our proper food and shelters. We had joined hands with other organizations and made 2 teams as South Indian and North Indian organizations and distributed the rations to more than 8 camps in Jeddah for almost a month.  
  • Jan 2017 : Request from a Govt. school from Ijilampadi ( Near to Dharmasthala) requesting for Support to setup a computer lab. Committee member personally visited this school and put forth to the forum for approval.  Forum decided to support their request and assisted to arrange computer lab.
  • Jan 2017 : Financial help request from a widow, Barkur city, Udupi Dist. Mrs. Sujatha, having two daughters, studying in class 10th and class 12th.  She was not able to manage the day today expenses along with school fee etc.  Forum approved her request. 
  • Feb 2017 : Request for financial help from Maria Bodwig boarding , Soraba city, Shimoga Dist. It’s a girl school, they want to build compound wall, President had discussion with the concern officials there during his visit, cost of this compound is more than a lakh. Forum approved this request, also this project got support from other community members too. 
  • Feb 2017 : Mr. Arif Adam Syed, from Mangalore who was in the kingdom for more than 25 years working in a petrol pump. For the last 5 years he was working without Iqama, lately his passport was also expired. He was paralyzed and admitted to hospital. For the last 7 months he is in hospital. With help of consulate his passport was renewed. After our intervention, his sponsor agreed to renew his Iqama. We arranged to send him back to India to continue his treatment in May 2017.
  • Financial help and other compassionate services were also reaching out to the families in the Kingdom. Those who has lost their jobs, who met accidents or any kind of major disease etc.
  • KNRI has supported more than 50 students for their higher studies in various education fields since 2007.
  • KNRI has started Toilet Project in the year 2016 as a part of Swatch Bharath in Karnataka rural cities. So far, 10 toilets were built in three cities i.e Institute of Education Mysore, Gulbarga School, Nelyyadi School. We are planning to build 100 toilets by end of year 2020.
  • Mar 2017 : Executive committee members contributed for the drinking water project (borewell ) in Institute of Education Mysore – work in progress.
